Pandua is a semi urban settlement in West Bengal. This semi urban region is located in the Hooghly District, with Hooghly Sadar is its Subdivision. The place is best known for its Minar.
Pandua (community development block) is an administrative division in Hooghly Sadar subdivision of Hooghly district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Pandua police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is at Pandua, which is a census town in this block. Another three census towns Namajgram, Purusattampur and Boinchee are in this block.
The size of the Block is quite large having area of 282.75 sqkm and consists of sixteen Gram Panchayats. The Howrah Bardhaman main rail route runs through the Block almost bifurcate it. The Block is the home to typical Bengali population as with a good numbers of Muslims and Christians and Tribal whose presence could be seen during their festivals. The Block is designated as IMDP Block with high tribal concentration.
The locals of this Block are predominantly involved agriculture(Rice, Potato etc). The entire Block has a lush green cover as well as 2nos of river namely Behula& Kunti flow through within the jurisdiction of the Block.
Chinsurah (30 km),the District Head Quarter, Bardhaman (50 km north west), Howrah(48 km south), Dum Dum(47 km south east), and Kolkata(50 km south east) are few big town and cities nearby.
It is located in between 23.08 N 88.28 E. Surrounded by Bardhaman&Balagarh in the North, PolbaDadpur in the South, Mogra in the East and Bardhaman in the West.
