Goghat-II is a Community Development Block that forms an administrative division in Arambagh Sub-Division of Hooghly District in the Indian state of West Bengal. Goghat-II CD Block is bounded by Raina-II CD Block, in Purba Bardhaman District, in the North, Goghat-I in the East, Chandrakona-I and Garhbeta-II CD Blocks, in Paschim Medinipur District in the South and Kotulpur CD Block, in Bankura District, in the West. It has 9 (Nine) Gram Panchayats, 121 Gram Sansads (Village Councils), 112 Mouzas. Goghat Police Station serves this block. Headquarters of this CD Block is at Kamarpukur. Kamarpukur, the place where the headquarters of this block is situated, is the Birth Place of Sri Ramkrishna. The ruins of an Afghan era fort at Garh Mandaran, made famous by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in his novel – Durgeshnandini, is located in this Block. This is a rich agricultural area with several cold storages. Though rice is the prime crop of the district, the agricultural economy largely depends on potato, jute, vegetables, and orchard products.

“The Satberia Chandramoni Eco Tourism Park”, nestled in the picturesque village of Satberia, under Kamarpukur Gram Panchavat within Goghat I1 Development Block, a neighbouring village of Dweregram, the ancestral homestead of Lord Shri Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansa Dev has been crafted by the initiative of Kamarpukur Gram Panchayet. The formal inauguration of the Park took place on 07.01.2023, with the distinguished presence of the Honourable President of Kamarpukur Ramakrishna Moth-0-Mission, Swami Lokottoranandji Moharaj and Transport Minister, Govt, of W.B., Mr. Snehashish Chakraborty along with the Sobhadhipati, Hooghly Zilla Parishad, Mrs. Aparupa Poddar, M.P.-Arambagh, S.D.O. , Arambagh, B.D.O., Goghat-ll Dev. Block and more honourable guests. GEO-Location : The Park has been developed on a baren khas land (spanning approximately 5.5 hectares) at Satberia Village under Kamarpukur Gram Panchayat within Goghat-ll Devolopment Block, Hooghly. Source of Fund : This Park stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of the Government of West Bengal, which has provided various sources of funding to support its development. These include the M.G.N.R.E.G.A, PBG-SFC, MP Lad Fund, and also the Own Fund of Gram Panchayet, all of which have been utilized to create a truly remarkable destination that highlights the natural beauty of the region. About the Park : This park, designed following the model of village environment, with three traditional huts, one community hall, and two modern concrete houses, offers comfortable overnight accommodations, enabling guests to fully embrace the tranquil and breath-taking atmosphere of the area. The Park is a treasure trove for bird lovers and animal enthusiasts alike, being home to a vast array of fascinating bird species and rabbits. It features three picturesque ponds, one of which even offers the facility of boating. To ensure the comfort and satisfaction of its visitors, this Eco Tourism Park provides a canteen facility that offers a variety of mouth-watering Bengali dishes, each prepared with authentic recipes that highlight the flavours of the region. The canteen even offers different recipes made of fresh fish caught from the park’s ponds, expertly cooked to perfection. With its delectable offerings and stunning natural surroundings, the park provides an unforgettable culinary experience that visitors are sure to savour. The canteen is run by the women of the self-help group of that locality. The Park is a true paradise for nature lovers, featuring stunning flower and fruit gardens that showcase the natural beauty of the region. Moreover, it offers a well-equipped children’s park, where kids can engage in various sports and games, providing them with a fun and enjoyable experience. The serene pond situated beside the children’s park is a fascinating spot to observe the lively and vibrant Campbell ducks. These beautiful creatures are known for their playful nature and loud calls, which add to the park’s vibrant and cheerful atmosphere. The initiative of Kamarpukur Gram Panchayet and the support of Goghat II Dev. Block, Satberia Chandramoni Eco Tourism Park has quickly become a popular destination for wanderthirsty visitors from far and wide, including Kolkata. Since its establishment, the park has welcomed many visitors who come to enjoy its beautiful gardens, tranquil ponds, and vibrant wildlife. With its unique attractions and serene atmosphere, the park provides a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of city life and offers visitors a chance to reconned with nature. There are still ongoing works and improvements being done to ensure improvement of the facilities and enhancement of the visitors’ experience. Besides providing the visitors with the opportunity to relish its untarnished beauty and indulge in refined recreation, with this project, we’ve ensured the employment of the unemployed youths of the aecaiity. The Park is located less than three kilometers away from the Kamarpukur Ramakrishna Math, The Holly Place of Lord Shri Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansadev and Joyrambati Sarada Math, The Holly Place of Lord Shri Shri Ma Sradadevi. This makes it an ideal destination for visitors who are interested in exploring the spiritual and cultural heritage of the region, as they can easily visit these significant landmarks in close proximity to the park. Mode of Transporta~on: I f one wishes to travel from Kolkata, there are two main options to reach the Satberia Chandramoni Eco Tourism Park. The first is to take a bus from Kolkata to Kamarpukur Chati via Arambagh. From there, he/she can take a 10-to-15-minute ride on a toto, a popular mode of transportation in the area, to reach the park. Alternatively, one can also hire a private car or taxi directly from Kolkata to the Satberia Chandramoni Eco Tourism Park, which can offer more comfort and convenience. If one prefers to travel by train, heishe has to deboard either at the Goghat Station or Arambagh Station, both of which are located in reasonable proximity to the Park. From there, one can easily hire a totolan auto-rickshaw or a Maruti van totravel to Kamarpukur Chati or directly to the park, depending on his/her preference. ..
